XIX Congreso Estatal de Astronomía celebrado en Madrid con muchas sensaciones positivas. Tengo que confesar que, después de un año algo difícil a nivel personal y siendo mi primer congreso, tenía muchas expectativas puestas en él y aunque a nivel organizativo, debido a la juventud y falta de experiencia de los organizadores, hubo bastantes fallos, el resultado general fue muy positivo y lleno de vivencias.

Hotel Convención . Después de una suculenta comida en la pizzeria de al lado, que se convirtió en nuestro restaurante oficial durante todo el fin de semana, partimos hacia la

Universidad Complutense .
La conferencia inaugural fue

Carlos Frenk , que con su estilo ameno nos habló sobre el pasado, presente y futuro de la Cosmología, centrándose en algunas de las muchas cuestiones que aún están por resolver.
A continuación entraba en acción el astrofísico
José A. Caballero junto a
Antonio Arias y sus músicos. Muchos de vosotros sabéis que si bien mi gran pasión es la Astronomía, la música es también algo fundamental en mi vida. Realmente tenía muchas ganas de verlo en directo. Presentaba su último trabajo
Multiversos, una arriesgada e interesante apuesta entre la música y la astronomía. Al principio de su actuación hicieron un pequeño viaje musical por aquellas canciones relacionadas con temas astronómicos a lo largo de la historia, entre ellos el
Space Oddity de
David Bowie cuya letra podéis ver siempre en la pestaña de este blog. Creo que el público nunca llegó a conectar del todo con esta música, que quizás necesite de varias escuchas para disfrutarse ya que no es precisamente fácil. A pesar de no ser una música para todos los oídos, hay que aplaudir esta iniciativa tan específica y comprometida, siempre lejos del gran público para la que está destinada.
Una vez acabado todo, ya en la calle, pudimos conversar unos minutos con el genial músico recordando aquellos tiempos míticos de su primera formación en
Granada (los
091, sin lugar a dudas uno de mis grupos favoritos que me ha acompañado siempre desde los primeros años ochenta). En la despedida incluso salieron a relucir los
exoplanetas , que podrían ser una magnífica fuente de inspiración en un pegadizo estribillo de su próximo trabajo.

Terminamos la noche en la
cena oficial del congreso en el
restaurante Riofrío, en pleno centro de Madrid, donde las charlas sobre Astronomía fueron uno de los platos principales de la cena.
El día fuerte del Congreso fue el sábado, estaban activas 3 salas simultáneamente donde se exponían interesantes trabajos y ponencias. Una pena, porque en ocasiones y a la misma hora, coincidían interesantes trabajos y tenías que elegir a cuál de ellos asistir. Esperemos que puedan colgarlas en alguna web para poder tener una idea de las mismas.
No pretendo hacer un recorrido por todas ellas, sería algo demasiado extenso para este blog. Si queréis saber de todo lo que se habló allí, os recomiendo leer

Por la mañana decidí estar en la
sesión Pro-AM donde
David Martínez Delgado, astrofísico cordobés, nos deleitó con
Arqueología galáctica. Resulta increible lo mucho que se puede hacer con modestos telescopios, cielos oscuros y largo tiempo de exposición.
A continuación fue el turno de
Paco Rica, donde presentaba
Descubrimiento de 141 binarias visuales por astrónomos amateurs. ¿Qué podría comentar al respecto? No está uno acostumbrado a estas cosas… Fue muy emocionante ver presentado un proyecto iniciado años atrás, que tantas satisfacciones y frutos nos ha dado. Paco estuvo impresionante en toda su exposición y desde aquí sólo puedo mostrarle mi más sincero agradecimiento por todo el trabajo realizado.

Fotometría. Había motivos sobrados para estar allí. Podemos decir que hubo dos bloques bien diferenciados, el primero compuesto por tres conferencias dedicado exclusivamente a cometas y asteroides. Tanto

Ramón Naves y
Julio Castellano nos deleitaron con sus respectivas exposiciones, mostrándonos algunos de los espectaculares resultados obtenidos durante todos estos años y analizando el imprescindible software
FoCAs II desarrollado por Julio. No tengo que decir que, aunque personalmente los conocí el año pasado en Córdoba, tengo habitual contacto con ellos desde hace muchos años gracias al trabajo desarrollado en este interesante campo en diferentes listas de correo. El domingo, cansados, sólo pudimos asistir a la conferencia impartida por
Ángel Gómez Roldán titulada
25 aniversario de la revista AstronomíA. Fue también muy emotiva, ya que hizo un recorrido desde el número 1 de
Tribuna hasta llegar a nuestros días. En cierto modo, fue un recorrido por toda nuestra vida astronómica, recordando aquellas portadas más significativas donde figuraban eventos únicos de los que fuimos testigos. Mi vida, aún con un pequeño altibajo en la década de los noventa, ha estado siempre ligada a la revista desde el segundo número que vi por casualidad en un kiosco cuando estudiaba en Córdoba. Desde entonces, hasta que me fui a Granada, siempre me la guardaban, me llamaban el
chico de Tribuna. Con ella he ido creciendo en la Astronomía hasta llegar a día de hoy. Supongo que es señal de que vamos cumpliendo años, pero fue realmente emocionante y más aún ver la reseña a la sección de “Estrellas Dobles”. ¡Gracias, Ángel!
Desgraciadamente no pude ver más del programa oficial y es algo que me apena ya que, como dije al principio, hubo bastantes ponencias que me tuve que perder y otras a las que no pude asistir.
Lo mejor de todo fue la reunión con viejos amigos y el haber conocido en persona, y no sólo a través de Internet, a otros amigos y compañeros de listas, algunos de ellos admirados desde siempre. A pesar de que dar algunos nombres tiene como consecuencia inevitable olvidar otros, no quiero dejar pasar la ocasión de nombrar a

Excelente. Qué gusto leerla, tan detallada... Genial le selección fotográfica. Para ser el primer CEA de nuestras vidas (¡¡¿cuándo tocará otro por aquí cerca?!!), ha sido una experiencia memorable. Sin duda, lo mejor ha sido poder estar con vosotros de nuevo, la gran familia de las dobles (además conociendo a Tófol y Cía.). Y, por supuesto, el reencuentro con Adolfo Darriba y Miguel Rodríguez. Y a los variabilistas y cometeros... y... ¡¡a toda la gente!! Según pasan los días, más me alegro de haber estado allí.
