El día 28 de Febrero tuvimos bastante estabilidad atmosférica y escasa transparencia, algo bastante común. Así que aproveché para probar por primera vez dos barlow 2x juntas en la videocámara Mintron en el C9.25, la focal resultante era de unos 9 metros. El enfoque se conseguía con cierta facilidad, un claro indicador del buen seeing que había.

Copérnico resulta siempre magnífico, debido a que es un cráter joven su estado de conservación es perfecto, pero curiosamente no es el típico cráter de impacto lunar. Su sistema montañoso central apenas llega a los 1000 metros de altura, cuando lo normal sería que alcanzase los 2000 m. Además su profundidad es de 3,7 km y según los modelos teóricos, de acuerdo con su diámetro de 93 km, debería llegar hasta los 4,4 km. ¿Acaso fue rellenado con lava o en este caso falla lo que predice la teoría?



Hainzel es un cráter alargado con forma curiosa que siempre me ha llamado la atención, realmente lo componen 3 cráteres superpuestos que son Hainzel A, Hainzel B y Hainzel C, de 53 km, 13 km y 38 km respectivamente. El mayor de ellos es el mejor conservado y por lo tanto, tiene que ser el más joven. Su pico central aparece bastante desplazado hacia el Norte.



Schiller es un cráter muy alargado de 180 km de largo y 70 km de ancho, se piensa que se debió formar por un gran impacto producido con un ángulo muy bajo de 2º ó 3º, casi rasante. Este tipo de impactos suelen producir cadenas de cráteres superpuestos y se cree que Schiller puede ser uno de ellos de magníficas porporciones.

Hainzel es conocido entre los aficionados americanos como "The Peanut" (el cacahuete) y que la verdad es que tiene esa forma. Las fotos tienen un detalle impresionante, pero sigo pensando que con la Toucam consigues un efecto más natural y parecido a la visión al telescopio. Lo que no quita que la Mintron sea una herramienta perfecta para la búsqueda de domos, por ejemplo :-)

Gracias Paco. Yo estoy muy contento con el detalle conseguido, pero no así con el aspecto global de las imágenes. Las zonas de lavas salen muy granuladas y poco homogéneas, además algunos bordes de los cráteres son algo irreales. Desde luego, sigo sin saber muy bien cómo ajustar los parámetros de la videocámara y lo hago un poco probando a ver qué sale. Tiene demasiados parámetros que modificar, pues es bastante más compleja que una webcam. Mi impresión es que no sé ajustar bien todos esos niveles, ya veremos en próximas tomas. En cambio con la ToUcam sí conseguí aspectos más reales y estéticos, pero nunca alcanzé ese nivel de detalle por mucho que lo intenté en el mismo telescopio.
